Common questions
If you buy to resell, or make things to sell, that's trading, and you pay tax on the profit once your trading income is over £1,000 a year. Selling your own unwanted things usually isn't taxable.
Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Shopify, Vinted, TikTok Shop and others. We work from each platform's sales and payout reports.
Sometimes. For overseas sellers, and imported goods of £135 or less, marketplaces may charge the UK VAT. If you're UK-based and VAT-registered, you usually account for VAT yourself.
We track what you buy and what's left at the year end, so you only claim the cost of the stock you actually sold.
